Colonel (Rtd) Maneesha De Silva RWP, being an “officer and gentlemen” under the moto of his regiment “Swift and Bold” in his military career has served mostly in the field in Sri Lanka Army while holding appointments in different capacities.

Maneesha has served in Special Force of Sri Lanka Army too during when subversive actions embraced many parts of the island in North and East upon creating fear psychosis among community irrespective of caste, creed, religion, etc.

He actively participated in almost all offensive operations conducted against LTTE during his tenure in the army and during final phase of humanitarian operations conducted against LTTE, he commanded 592 Infantry Brigade till to the end of LTTE terrorism in Sri Lanka in 2009.

This senior officer served in Haiti as an UN member in 2005. His valiant service has been commended from time to time by the Army through awarding gallantry medals.

Colonel De Silva has exposed himself to many local and abroad courses during his career in which he secured Diploma in IHL & HR (SL), Diploma in Senior Man Management in India and International Defense Management (USA).

Pre Employment Training

Training of the security personnel consist of 7 days training at the Civil Security Training Center, Kaluthara, which is handled by Civil Security Department, under the Ministry of Defense & Urban Development.

This course consists of following subjects

  • Rules and regulations pertaining to the private security field.
  • Government laws.
  • Static duties and patrol duties.
  • Weapon handling and live firing.
  • Civil liability, communication and attitudes
  • Search and seizure issues.
  • Unarmed defensive tactics.
  • Personnel discipline Drills.
  • Fire fighting.
  • Investigation and report fire hazards.
  • Check for proper identification at the entrance to building or gates.
  • Warn of persons breaking of companies rules.

On The Job Training

In addition to the above training they are given 72 hours on the job training at the job site under the supervision of Training Officer and Visiting Officers, on following matters.

  • Direct visitors and customers.
  • Patrol the building and surrounding at given time.
  • Check the doors/windows/gates/ fences/locks/lights etc.
